Looking for some music to play poolside in the afternoon this summer? Enjoy a few new hits from Viceroy, all promoted and free to download on Soundcloud!

And for the 90s kids out there… enjoy Montell Jordan remixed. This remix of Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” counts over 180K plays on Soundcloud and was given a shoutout by the R&B singer himself. Didn’t think they could do it, but it’s pretty catchy.

Want to learn more about Viceroy?

His “summertime, all the time” motto seep deep into both his original and remix catalog leaving a lush, tropical disco-house sound that is paralleled by no one. It’s this distinctive sound that has found Viceroy with features in nearly every publication including VICE Magazine, The Huffington Post, MTV, Nylon Magazine, Fresh New Tracks, Gotta Dance Dirty, All Things Go, This Song Is Sick, and many more.

In 2012, Viceroy released a slew of chart topping, well received singles, including the pop gems “Chase Us Around”, “While We’re In Love”, and the dance floor filling, “Only Takes”. On the remix front, Viceroy has worked with well established artists such as Maroon 5, Passion Pit, Two Door Cinema Club, Yelle, The Knocks, and St. Lucia. Already shaping up to be a momentous year for this remarkable producer, 2013 has seen Viceroy release “Dream Of Bombay” along with the next edition of his now infamous “Jet Life” remix series with a funk-filled rework of Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It”. Most recently, Viceroy has teamed up with New York City’s French Horn Rebellion on “FridayNights”, an all new original track featuring Robert Perlick-Molinari’s crooning vocals and ear-catching bouncing grooves.

With demand for his brand of dance music rising, Viceroy has brought his infectious sound to stages around the world – playing alongside such respected names such as Diplo, Theophilus London, Miami Horror, Oliver, and Treasure Fingers, while continuing to keep summer the only season in your upcoming forecast.

Savoy

Savoy Hotline

If you haven’t heard of the EDM subgenre Lovestep yet, do me a favor: 1) Go to Soundcloud.com 2) Follow Savoy. So, what is lovestep?

Well, I have the answer from the founding fathers, Savoy, by just giving them a call. The guys told me, all that’s required is a melodic baseline that basically makes you wanna get it on. They asked me if I “concurred.” I said “Yep!” and proceeded to giggle.

Enter the power of Twitter…

Not sure if I’m famous, but it was a nice ego boost 😉 In conclusion, I’m giving Savoy 5 stars for their efforts to reach fans. It’s VERY important to foster those relationships early on and Savoy has it down perfectly.

Want to give them a call too? Here’s the number: 321-8-SAVOY-8. Remember, only call the number when they say it’s open. Check their Facebook and Twitter @SAVOY for the latest.

Style Media Names Model/Designer Erin Wasson as a Mentor On New Fashion Competition Series “Styled to Rock”

Style Media announced that model, actress, designer, and my spirit animal 😉 Erin Wasson will serve as the second mentor on “Styled to Rock,” the new reality competition series from executive producer Rihanna that searches for the next trendsetting designer.

Wasson joins previously announced mentor Pharrell Williams to guide 12 up-and-coming designers as they embark on the opportunity of a lifetime—to dress some of the biggest names in entertainment. “Styled to Rock” is slated to premiere later this year.

“We could not have asked for a better addition to our team.  As a leading model and mainstay in the fashion industry, Erin’s unapologetic approach to fashion and free-spirited style will give the “Styled to Rock “designers invaluable insight,” said Salaam Coleman Smith, President, Style Media. “With Rihanna as executive producer and Pharrell and Erin as mentors, our designers will gain incredible experience while also being challenged in new ways as they compete to earn the title of America’s next trendsetting designer.”

“Styled to Rock” provides 12 up-and-coming designers the coveted opportunity to dress some of the biggest names in entertainment. Each week, challenges will push the designers to their creative limits when they are tasked with styling an A-list star. The celebrity guest-of-the-week will decide which designer best achieves their vision – and advances to the next level of competition. Faced with the threat of elimination, the remaining designers must meet with the three mentors to discuss where they fell short and ultimately, who will be sent home. In the end, one designer will be named the winner of “Styled to Rock.”

Texas native Erin Wasson is a model, designer, entrepreneur and actress who is considered one of modeling’s “blue chip” faces. Her prolific career has countless highlights, from gracing the covers of numerous magazines, including the French, German, Spanish and Australian editions of Vogue, to shooting with renowned photographers Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier and Ellen von Unwerth, among others, to walking runways for every important European fashion house, including Chanel, Gucci, Lanvin and Balenciaga. Her low-key and free-spirited sense of style has inspired many, and Wasson served as muse, and then stylist, for CFDA Award winner and designer Alexander Wang.  In 2008, Wasson made the natural leap to designer, kicking off a three-season apparel collaboration with storied skate-and-surf brand RVCA and launching her own line of jewelry, Low Luv, which currently is sold at more than 200 stores worldwide. In fall 2011, she returned to the studio to design a capsule collection for French brand Zadig & Voltaire. Wasson also appeared alongside Justin Timberlake in a series of short films for the William Rast brand and made a cameo appearance in Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere.” Most recently, Wasson was featured as a leading role in Timur Bekmambetov’s “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.” Uniquely versatile and notoriously hard-working, she spends much of her free time traveling and working in support of animal rescue and serves on the advisory board of Saving America’s Mustangs.

“Styled to Rock” is executive produced by Robyn Rihanna Fenty and is produced by Shed Media US, Overbrook Entertainment and Marcy Media Films. Nick Emmerson, Pam Healey and Dan Peirson of Shed Media US and James Lassiter of Overbook Entertainment also serve as executive producers. Sarah Weidman and Merah Chung executive produce the series for Style.
